Johnston County Commissioners Adopt 2015-2016 Budget

The Johnston County Commissioners unanimously adopted a budget to fund county government for the 2015-2016 fiscal year. Among other things, the commissioners increased funding for Johnston County Schools by $800,000, provided for an increased projection of revenues in the Register of Deeds' Office of $200,000 and $200,000 for increased revenue to Buildings and Inspections. It also allocated funds for Harbor, Inc. and the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council to assist in their work that assists women and crisis and to assist at risk youth. The final budget is $202 million and according to the County Manager the fund balance is an estimated 16%. Additional information can be found here.
