John Shallcross and Darryl Mitchell Take Oath for County Board of Elections

John Shallcross and Darryl Mitchell took the oath of office to serve on the Johnston County Board of Elections. Clerk of Superior Court Michelle Creech Ball administered the oath as employees of the board looked on. Immediately following the swearing-in ceremony, Shallcross was elected Chairman of the Board and Mitchell was elected Secretary. The mission of the Johnston County Board of Elections to ensure that elections are free, fair, accurate, convenient and accessible to all voters in Johnston County. It is governed by a three-member board appointed by the North Carolina State Board of Elections. No more than two members of the County Board of Elections shall belong to the same political party. Shallcross and Mitchell are the Republican members.
