Col. (Retired) Ronald Rabin has been a conservative Republican resident of Harnett County for seven years. His decision to run for the North Carolina State Senate is driven by his concern for the direction of our state and nation.

Before making this entry into politics, Ronald Rabin served our country as an active member of the United States Army for nearly 24 years retiring as a Colonel.  His assignments took him to many sections of the United States and to other nations – including two tours of duty in Vietnam where he commanded an Infantry Battalion during his second tour.  He was also assigned to Fort Bragg, North Carolina, as a member of the 7th Special Forces Group and commanded an operational detachment that deployed to the Kingdom of Laos. Later, he earned a Master’s degree from George Washington University and also graduated from the National War College.

Col. Rabin has seen first-hand that the quality of life we enjoy in the United States is far and away the best in the world and believes that it is the result of its having a government that is bound by a constitution that protects our liberties and encourages individualism and creativity.  He is committed to upholding and defending that constitution and not letting our nation and state drift from our founding principles.

After retiring from active Army service, Col. Rabin launched a second successful career.  This time he served in the aerospace and defense sector of our economy. During this period, he was involved in business development, management and budget, and business processes. He worked in all sectors of our economy including commercial, government, military, and not-for-profit.

Since retiring, he has settled in the Anderson Creek Club (ACC) community and has been involved in local community affairs serving on the ACC Property Owners Association (POA) Committee and as a POA management consultant.  Col. Rabin and his wife of over 40 years, Mona, have 3 children (Mark, Scott and Rachel) and nine Grandchildren.
